Why's everything gotta be for profit?

Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to stop trying to make money with every little thing I make. For over a decade I struggled with projects that didn't mean much to me in hopes I could avoid or replace the income from a regular job.

Nowadays, I'm over that shit. Anything I do in my free time is for me. And if other people enjoy it, awesome! I'm starting to feel less creatively stunted and stressed to deliver. My day job is there for the stable income and it's not bad. I'm grateful to have it.

I even started a new game prototype a couple of days ago! And if it doesn't make it to a commercial state, that's totally cool. I'll probably share more about that later since it's literally just some text right now with the basic game logic.

I think this is why I like Neocities so much. We're just people expressing ourselves not expecting any kind of compensation. And I'm not trying to hate on anyone's hustle, if it works for you that's great. The satisfaction I get as I type out raw HTML in Notepad++ and uploading is worth it alone.
